This week, Ourense once again moves to the centre of the international thermal tourism industry. On 24 and 25 September, Expourense will host the 24th International Thermal Tourism, Health and Wellness Fair — Termatalia, returning to its European home in Galicia after the 2025 edition was held in Colombia.
Termatalia 2026 will welcome direct participation from 16 countries across Europe and the Americas, with around 60 exhibitors, 50 speakers and 15 international tour operators. Business, professional training and relationship-building will form the main pillars of this year’s programme.
An international thermal community
Thermal destinations, resorts, health-tourism companies, experts, media and professional buyers will meet in Ourense over two days.
Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Ireland, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Ukraine and Uruguay will all be directly represented. Portugal will have a particularly strong presence, with both public and private organisations taking part.
The objective of this edition is clear: to generate business, knowledge and cooperation around thermalism and Wellness tourism.
Máxima Bienestar joins the Tourism Contracting Workshop
One of the event’s key professional activities will be the Tourism Contracting Workshop, bringing together 15 specialised tour operators and international buyers with purchasing capacity in their respective markets.
Máxima Bienestar is included among the confirmed Spanish participants. For us, the Workshop offers an opportunity to meet destinations and establishments, discover new projects and continue developing a strong professional network across thermal, health and Wellness tourism.
50 experts at the 7th International Congress on Water and Health
The 7th International Congress on Water and Health will be another major focus of Termatalia 2026, bringing together around 50 experts from approximately ten countries.
The agenda will explore some of the issues currently reshaping the sector, including active ageing, emerging Wellness trends, quality and best practices, artificial intelligence, university research, medical hydrology, geothermal resources and the role of thermal resorts in the economic and social development of destinations.
Sessions will run simultaneously in Sala Europa and Sala América, reinforcing Termatalia’s long-standing role as a professional bridge between Europe and Latin America.
Mineral water remains at the heart of Termatalia
The culture of mineral water will once again have a dedicated place within the event.
Termatalia will hold the 21st International Mineral Water Tasting, alongside its Water Bar and express tastings led by hydro-sommelier Mercedes González.
Visitors will also find massage areas, beauty and treatment demonstrations, Wellness yoga and other activities designed to bring the wellbeing dimension of the fair closer to the general public.
Ourense becomes an international thermal capital for two days
Today, Termatalia is much more than a trade exhibition. It is a meeting place where tourism, health, science, Wellness, innovation, hospitality and destination development intersect.
For Máxima Bienestar, taking part means being actively involved in that professional dialogue: following the evolution of the sector, strengthening relationships with existing partners, discovering new projects and continuing to identify experiences that can bring genuine value to our clients and collaborators.
We look forward to Ourense on 24–25 September for Termatalia 2026.
